Embedding Objects in Gel Candles
There are a couple of different methods for embedding objects in gel candles.
For the first method you'll need fishing line or thread. Cut a length of your thread. Tape one end of the thread to the outside of your candle container. Next, string your object onto the thread and tape the other end onto the other side of your container. You can make your object hang higher or lower into your container based on the tightness of your thread. Now pour in your gel. Once your gel has set, you can remove the tape from your thread and gently pull the thread out of the gel.
The second method will take some experimentation. Basically, you can just pour your gel into your container and wait for the gel to set up. Once it has set up, you can drop the objects into the gel. The trick is that if you drop your objects into the gel too soon, it will sink to the bottom. On the other hand, if you try to drop your objects in to late, they won't sink at all or will leave a mark on the surface of your candle.
No matter what method you use, if you find that you are unhappy with the look of your candle, you can always remove the gel and remelt it to try again.
