Supply List

  • 1 pkg (1/4 oz) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • 3 tbsp boiling water
  • 1/2 tsp white corn syrup or sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (Or any other kind of extract for flavoring)
  • Plain white paper
  • Markers, crayons, paint, colored pencils, sequins, glitter, fabric, or other materials to decorate your stickers

Equipment

  • Bowl
  • Paint brush

Instructions

  • The first step is to make your sticker adhesive. Place cold water in the bowl and sprinkle the gelatin into the water. Allow the mixture to soften for 5 minutes.
  • Next, pour the boiling water into the bowl. Stir the mixture until it dissolves.
  • Add the corn syrup or sugar and the flavoring extract. Stir completely.
  • Use the paint brush to brush the mixture onto one side of your white paper. Brush it onto a whole sheet and you can cut it into smaller stickers when the paper has dried.
  • Don't worry if the paper wants to curl up as it dries. You can flatten it later by placing a heavy book on top of it for a while.
  • Now it is time to decorate your stickers. If you want, you can cut the sticker paper into squares and decorate each square, or simply draw your own shapes on the whole page and cut them out when you're done.
  • Use your embellishments and your imagination to decorate the non-sticky side of the paper!
  • To apply your stickers, simply moisten the sticky side and apply to any object.
