Frosty Layered Votives

Perfect little winter candles to keep out the cold! We scented these with a spicy wintery scent.

Supply List

  • Votive blend wax
  • Candle dye (We used royal blue)
  • Candle fragrance
  • Votive wicks

Equipment

  • Votive molds
  • Pouring pot
  • Candle thermometer

Instructions

  1. Follow the instructions for melting wax and preparing the molds as described in the Basic Votive Candles Instructions. Be sure to read all of these instructions before staring this project. We will just be adding a few steps.
  2. For the first layer, only add a little bit of dye so that you get a nice light color.
  3. Add any fragrance you'd like to use.
  4. Fill your votive molds about 2/3 of the way full. Allow to cool completely.
  5. Heat up the remaining wax.
  6. Add more dye until you get a deep color.
  7. Fill the rest of the votive molds. Remember to save a little wax to top off each mold. Allow to cool completely.
  8. Reheat the remaining wax and top off each mold. Allow to cool completely.
  9. When the candles have cooled, carefully remove from molds.
