Rose Bouquet Painted Pot

This painted terra cotta pot will add color to anyone's day. Those who are intimidated by painting, will find this kind of abstract painting easy enough to master quickly.

Supply List

  • Terra cotta pot
  • Acrylic paint in cream, red, purple, pink, and green
  • Acrylic sealer


  • Several sizes of paint brushes


  1. Use a large paint brush to cover the entire pot inside and out with cream paint. You will need to add two coats. Allow to dry.
  2. Next add your green leaves following the picture above. While the green paint is still wet, use a little cream paint to accent the leaves. Allow to dry.
  3. Now color three blobs, one red, one purple, and one pink. Again, while the paint is still wet, use a little cream paint to accent the flowers. Don't worry about being exact; these are meant to be imperfect and abstract. Allow to dry.
  4. At this point, you can also add the roses along the edge of the terra cotta pot. Alternate between red, purple, and pink. Also add, leaves to go with them. Allow to dry.
  5. The last paint to be added is the black outlining. This will add a little "attitude" to your flowers. Use squiggly lines and follow the picture above for guidance. Allow to dry completely
  6. The final step is the protect your work with a coat of acrylic sealer. Be sure to spray this evenly in a well ventilated area.
