Floss Flowers

These easy floss flowers make adorable embellishments for clothing, jewelry, gift baskets or even scrapbook pages.

Supply List

  • Embroidery Floss in Several Different Colors
  • Wire (Florist wire works well)
  • Florist Tape

Equipment

  • Scissors

Instructions

  1. Select a color of floss for the center of your flower. Wrap this floss around two of your fingers five times. Slide this bundle off your fingers.
  2. Select a color of floss for the outside of your flower. Wrap this floss around three of your fingers twenty times. Slide this bundle off your fingers.
  3. Place the center colored bundle of floss in the middle of the outside colored bundle of floss. Wrap your wire around the middle of both bundles securing them together. Leave a length of the wire to act as the stem of your flower.
  4. Use your scissors to cut the ends of the looped floss. Carefully spread out the ends to form your flower.
  5. Take a piece of florist tape and wrap it around the base of the flower to cinch the threads together and your flower is finished.
